i am so excited.
having republicans in power is a good thing.
Welcome to the dark side Jayson
I honestly think the left has become elitists who do not know what the average man is like. They've seperated themselves. Anyone with a different opinion from them is stupid and they do not fear calling them names.
At this point in time all the left offers is a hatred of George W Bush. That is not a platform that will succeed. While many in America may not agree with the President polls show that they do feel safer with this administration than any other since Ronald Reagan.
interesting story seeing as part of the surrender in gulf war 1, iraq was not suppose to have these and it is interesting as to just how far the regime was willing to hide stuff.

Well, the reasons keep on changing and the proof never arrives.
Dear Mr Simon the reasons have never changed. What has happened is people who are anti Bush simply only hear what they want to hear. Many of the Bush haters have taken the WMD portion and ran with that. Respectfully sir there were many many reasons listed other than WMD.
You might also consider that many who are now actively anti war during the Clinton administration were saying exactly the same things as the Bush administration has said. The only difference is Clinton did not act on it will the same force as the Bush administraion did. Clinton promised to go in to destroy Saddams capability of producing and owning WMD. In fact he has now come out to state that beating the WMD thought to death is not productive or accurate.
Think about this. Why did Saddam bury an entire airforce? In such a manner that they would no longer be usable. What was he doing if not trying to hide something.
The WMD are most likely in the country and there has been much proof put forth that proves they've been there recently in certain areas.
But no fear sir, the world will become a safer place. There is an administration in Washington that is going to fight terrorism to the ends of the earth. This administration will be intact until 2008. There is little doubt of that. Meanwhile our enemies will cover in caves and tunnels afraid to show themselves. This is a good thing.
now, the war is over, the weapons were not used and of course have not been found.. how threatening could they be if they did not even use them when being invaded by a massive force (of the countries they hate)?!
perhaps, as many suspect, they didn't use them because they didn't have them?.
now we're being told that we'll have to be patient and give them time to find them.
The first United Nations inspection unit, Unscom, operated in Iraq from 1991 to 1998. Its mission was to destroy weapons that, it was assumed, would be handed over by a defeated and co-operative regime. The reality was rather different.
With an area twice that of Britain, Iraq could easily withhold information from a few hundred inspectors. Through infiltration, bugging and physical threats, it systematically obstructed the UN's efforts. . . .
The nuclear weapons Iraq was aiming to produce depend on highly enriched uranium, which may still be available on the black market. Given the documentation from previous work, and the know-how in scientists' heads, the time required to assemble a crude bomb would then be a matter of months.
If the US had yielded to UN pressure to give Unmovic more time, it is unlikely the inspectors would have found significant WMD. The troop concentrations around Iraq would have been dispersed and the pressure on Mr Hussein to co-operate would have diminished accordingly. Ultimately economic sanctions would have been lifted - and a rehabilitated Mr Hussein could have resumed his quest for WMD.
That would have been disastrous for global security. The possibility of links to terrorist groups was one of the weightiest motives for war. Regimes in possession of clandestine WMD must be tempted to use them by proxy, since countermeasures cannot easily be directed against anonymous assailants.
What matters is not whether Iraq's WMD can be tracked down but whether the production of such weapons has been inhibited for the foreseeable future. That required the overthrow of the regime.
(2003-08-05) -- democrat national committee chairman terry mcauliffe said today that america is not ready for his party to nominate its first openly-liberal candidate in the post-reagan era.. .
"officially we have a 'don't ask-don't tell' policy regarding liberalism," said mr. mcauliffe.
"no openly-liberal candidate will receive the nomination.".
Speaking of liberals
Gore "Assembling Posse" to Challenge Bush in 2004
(2003-08-07) -- Al Gore announced today that he is "assembling a posse" to challenge George Bush for the presidency in 2004. Gore has called Joe Lieberman, Diane Feinstein, Dick Gephardt and others asking them to all run for president with him.
"I don't want to unilaterally go after Bush without knowing that all the leaders in the party are united," said Gore. "A primary race can be so divisive, so I'm waiting to declare my candidacy until all Democrats in Congress, all Democrat Governors, and former President Clinton confirm their intention to fight on my behalf."
The former vice president also said he will not run unless he gets international support for his bid for the White House.
"We learned in '92 how important it is to get members of the U.N. Security Council -- like the Chinese -- on your side," Gore said.

Gore's Major Policy Speech Called 'Instant Classic'
(2003-08-07) -- In his first "major policy speech" since his Saturday Night Live appearance, former Vice President Al Gore today laid out "a statesman-like vision for America".
Political scientists and Constitutional scholars have already dubbed the speech a "classic" calling it the "Trousers Ablaze Manifesto."
"Mr. Gore demonstrated his towering intellect," said one unnamed scholar. "He essentially said to the President of the United States, 'Liar, Liar, pants on fire!' But it was the way he said it that will ensconce this address in the annals of majestic oratory."
At a pace reminiscent of a digital metronome, Mr. Gore analyzed the policies of the Bush administration, and concluded "everything Bush says is a big fat lie, or rather a pattern of big fat lies."
Scholars continue to lament the passing of this "policy genius" from the political scene. As one noted, "Mr. Gore sounded very ex-vice-presidential."

Gore Update: Ethics
As former Vice President Al Gore mulled a White House run late last year, he used a campaign finance loophole to send $100,000 he raised two years ago for the Florida recount to bolster his position in the first two states where presidential candidates test their mettle.
IRS forms reveal disbursements on Oct. 24, 2002 to the Iowa Democratic Party Coordinated Campaign ($25,000), New Hampshire Senate Democratic Caucus ($20,000), New Hampshire Democratic Party ($30,000) and Iowa’s Truman Fund ($25,000). The donations came 10 days after Gore made a two-day trip to Iowa, where he attended fundraisers for Democratic candidates.
Some have raised ethical questions about the expenditures, saying the Gore campaign should not have spent recount money to run for president.
"He should not have been using the recount donations for future political office," said Robert Stern, president of the Center for Governmental Studies, a nonpartisan organization that studies the government and campaign finance reform. "The people gave the money to the recount for the purpose of recounting votes. Should he be allowed to do this? The answer is no."
i read this somewhere else this morning and felt you all may enjoy it.. .
you know, it is easy to forget the 'promises' that bill and hillary made .
while in office.
I read this somewhere else this morning and felt you all may enjoy it.
You know, it is easy to forget the 'promises' that Bill and Hillary made
while in office. It strikes home when it is listed like this.
After the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which killed six and injured
1,000; President Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and
punished. BUSH COVERED IT!
After the 1995 bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed five U.S. military
personnel; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and
punished. BUSH COVERED IT!
After the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed 19 and
injured 200 U.S. military personnel; Clinton promised that those responsible
would be hunted down and punished. BUSH COVERED IT!
After the 1998 bombing of U.S. embassies in Africa, which killed 224 and
injured 5,000; Clinton promised that those responsible! would be hunted down and
punished. BUSH COVERED IT!
After the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole, which killed 17 and injured 39 U.S.
sailors; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and
punished. BUSH COVERED IT!
Maybe if Clinton had kept his promise, an estimated 3,000 people in New
York and Washington, D.C. that are now dead would be alive today. BUSH TOLD
THOSE FIREMAN -- THEY WOULD HEAR US TOO!
And, now that Bush is taking action to bring these people to justice, we
have opponents charging him with being a war monger...
AN INTERESTING QUESTION:
This question was raised on a Philly radio call-in show. Without casting
stones, it is a legitimate question.
There are two men, both extremely wealthy. One develops relatively cheap
software and gives billions of dollars to charity. The other sponsors terrorism.
That being the case, why was it that the Clinton Administration spent more
money chasing down Bill Gates over the past eight years than Osama bin Laden?
THINK ABOUT IT!
It is a strange turn of events.
Hillary gets $8 Million for her forthcoming memoir.
Bill gets about $12 Million for his memoir yet to be written.
This from two people who have spent the past 8 years being unable to
recall anything about past events while under oath!
(2003-08-06) -- iran and north korea and placed a joint advertisement in the chronicle of global terror seeking a new member of the so-called axis of evil.. .
"since saddam fell, we're like charlie's angels without farrah fawcett," said north korean leader kim jong il, "two points does not an axis make.".
according to reports in a japanese newspaper, north korea and iran are working together to develop long-range nuclear missiles.
That might make a good plot Heathen.
Here are a couple of accurate quotes for a short time ago. Perhaps Hamas appreciates reality more than Satire.
"I can you hear you! The rest of the world hears you! And the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon!" -- George W. Bush standing in the rubble of the WTC
"Every nation in every region now has a decision to make: Either you are with us or you are with the terrorists. From this day forward, any nation that continues to harbor or support terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime." -- George W. Bush
"States like these (Iraq, Iran, & North Korea), and their terrorist allies, constitute an axis of evil, arming to threaten the peace of the world. By seeking weapons of mass destruction, these regimes pose a grave and growing danger. They could provide these arms to terrorists, giving them the means to match their hatred. They could attack our allies or attempt to blackmail the United States. In any of these cases, the price of indifference would be catastrophic." -- George W. Bush
